DESIGN FOR A PEN AND PENCIL CASE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 11,953, dated August 24, 1880.
Application filed July 9, 1880. Term of patent 35 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JOSEPH U. GEROW, of Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented a new and Improved Design for \VatclrOhain Charms and Pen and Pencil Cases, of which the following is a specification.
Figure l is a longitudinal side elevation of the design. Fig. 2 is a partly sectional vertical elevation of the same as applied to a pencil. Fig. 3 is a cross-section of the same on line .90 m, Fig. 1.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.
My design consists of an ornamental foursided case or shaft gradually tapering to one end, and charged with ornamental hieroglyphics or inscriptions, and having an ornamental pyramidal top and an attached stud and ring.
In the drawings, A represents the ornamental four-sided tapering case or shaft, which may be longitudinally perforated, as shown at a. Bis a stud projecting from said case A, and holding in its eye a ring, 0.
D is the ornamental pyramidal top of said case or shaft A, which top 1) may he detachable from said case or shaft A, and he applied to a pencil, as shown in Fig. 2, wherein i E represent the pencil extended from the ease or shaft A.
The top or handle E of the pencil carries on its tip the ornamental pyramidal top I) of the case or shaft A, and the said pencil-top .E and point E are constructed in the usual manner.
At I! are shown the ornamental inscriptions or hieroglyphies marked on the said case or shaft A.
Havingthus described my inventiolnwhatl claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
A design for pencil-cases, consisting of the pyramidal case A, having an opening at the bottom, the stud B, having ring 0, and the tapering top portion, D, as shown and described.
