IMPROVEMENT lN COMBINED FLOUR-CHEST AND BREAD-TABLE.

Specification forming part of Letters Patent N 0. 188,566, dated March 20, 1877 application filed February 3, 1977.

To all who-m it may concern:

-Be it known that I, WILLIAM A. BARNES,

of Goodwins Corner, in the county of Union and State of Indiana, have invented a new and valuable Improvement in Meal-Chest and Bread-Table; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the construction and operation of the same, reference being bad to the annexed drawings, making a part of this specification, and to the letters and figures of reference marked thereon.

Figure l of the drawings is a representation of a perspective view of my meal-chest and bread-table, and Fig. 2 is a transverse vertical sectional view thereof. This invention consists in a combined meal and flour chest and bread-table, constructed, arranged, and used as hereinafter particularly set forth.

In the accompanying drawings, A designates a rectangular chest, which is divided, by a vertical partition, a, into a flour-receptacle,

A and meal-receptacle A The ends of said chest A are provided, .near the top thereof, with grooves a a, in which slide tongues b b, formed on the inner face of downward extensions b b at the ends of a sliding cover B, as shown in Fig. 1. Said cover is drawn forward to allow access to the contents of chest A, and is prevented from sliding backward too far by an apron, b which is shown in Fig. 2. On top of said cover B and at the ends thereof are formed two compartments, 0 G, in which slide, respectively, drawers D and D, both ofwhich are adapted to be drawn out in front. Drawer D is provided with a longitudinal partition, d, and is used for holding the roller and other tools employed in bread-making. Drawer D is used for holding convenient quantities of flour or meal to be made up into dough. The space between compartments G G is open, except at the rear, where a back piece or rim, D connects them; and that part of the top of cover B which intervenes between said compartments forms a dough-board or dough-table, E. Rim D prevents the dough from dropping fro m the back of said table E during the process of knead ing; and said table may be provided with a low front rim or guard for a similar purpose. What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
