1 o all 10 710m it may concern.
Be it known that I, HENRY MoNAHAN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Meriden, in the county of New Haven and State of Connecticut, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Line Holders; and I do hereby declare the following, when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings and the characters of reference marked thereon, to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, and which said. drawings constitute part of this application, and represent, in
1 a perspective view of two pins con structed in accordance with my invention and shown as connected by a line.
Fig. 2 a broken side view of one of the pins.
This invention relates to improvement in line holders such as are commonly used by gardeners, walk-layers, and others, where it is desired to support a line for straight edges, the object of the invention being to provide holders or pins bywhich a line may be held, and the invention consists in the construction hereinafter described and particularly recited in the claims.
In carrying out my invention, I employ a long, tapered pin 5, preferably formed with a head 6 and formed in one side with a notch 7. Secured to the notched side of the pin,
and below the notch, is a finger 8, which projects above the upper end of the notch, and which is bowed outward from the pin.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented July 25, 1922.
1922. Serial No. 552,405.
These pins are used in connection with a cord or line 9, the ends of which are knotted at the desired points, and the ends of the line are inserted between the lingers and the pins, so as to enter the notches 7. These pins are driven in at the desired point, and the line stretched between them in the usual way of using a line for forming a straight edge in gardening, walk-laying, etc, and provides a simple and convenient means for holding a line, and with which the line may be readily engaged and removed, when desired.
I claim:
1. A line holder, comprising a pin formed in one side with a notch, and a finger secured to the notched side of the pin and projecting upward beyond the upper end of the notch.
52. A line holder, comprising an upwardlybowed pin formed in one side with a notch, and a finger secured to the notched side of the pin and extending above the upper end of the notch.
8. A line holder, comprising a pin formed with a head and in one side with a notch, and a finger on the notched side of the pin, the said finger projecting upward, across the face of the notch.
In testimony whereof, I have signed this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
