Description

Glass substrate polishing device

The present invention relates to a polishing device, in particular to a polishing device for glass substrates.

According to this, glass substrates are widely used, for example, they are used in portable electronic devices or in-vehicle electronic display devices, and can also be used as glass protectors for display screens.

In general, after the glass substrate is formed, the edge of the glass substrate still needs to be polished to prevent the edge from being too rough and prevent personnel from being injured when touching. Said edge refers to the end connected between the two side planes. In addition to the above, the touch screen glass is generally polished by the edge, which greatly improves the appearance of the mobile phone and improves the user's experience when using the touch screen operation. The visual effect is obviously improved. This type of glass can make the surface of the mobile phone look like water droplets that are full but not overflowing, with more visual tension. There is a feeling that the screen is floating on the body of the phone. Furthermore, the curved edge design of the screen glass is more ergonomic, eliminating the hard edges and corners and greatly improving the feel of the sliding screen.

The current edge polishing method for glass substrates still uses a single glass substrate for processing, which makes the operation inefficient, takes considerable time, and cannot reduce the processing cost.

Later, some industry developed a glass edge polishing device such as Taiwan Patent No. M437229. It discloses that the polishing device can polish multiple glass sheets at one time, but the patent can only polish and grind the side edges (surfaces) of the glass (that is, only 2D polishing and grinding), and cannot realize the polishing of two glass sheets. The edges (ends) between the side planes are polished and ground, that is, the 2.5D polishing and grinding process cannot be achieved.

In order to solve the above problems, the present invention discloses a polishing device for glass substrates, which utilizes obliquely arranged polishing elements to polish and grind the edges of the glass substrates, so that the edges can be polished into a predetermined arc-shaped end angle, so that the Realize that the glass substrate has a 2.5D shape.

To achieve the above object, an embodiment of the present invention provides a glass substrate polishing apparatus, which includes a rotating shaft and a plurality of polishing elements. The rotating shaft has an axis line, the polishing elements have softness and flexibility and are arranged around the periphery of the rotating shaft and extend and distribute along the axis line direction. Each polishing element is associated with an imaginary line orthogonal to the axis line. Has an included angle, and the included angle is less than 90 degrees.

In another embodiment of the present invention, the included angle is between 5 degrees and 70 degrees.

In another embodiment of the present invention, the polishing element is made of wool.

In another embodiment of the present invention, in another embodiment of the present invention, there are a plurality of glass substrates, the polishing device has a fixing device to clamp and position the glass substrates, and the glass substrates are arranged at equal intervals.

In another embodiment of the present invention, the fixing device includes a first fixing part, a second fixing part and a plurality of spacers disposed between each two glass substrates, the first fixing part and the second fixing part The glass substrate holder is set in position.

In another embodiment of the present invention, the thickness of each spacer is between 0.01 mm and 5 mm.

Therefore, each polishing element of the present invention is arranged in an oblique attitude, and when the polishing element feeds the edge for polishing, the polishing and grinding are performed with an oblique polishing force, and no defects are caused to the first surface of the glass substrate. Exemplary embodiments of the present invention are described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings, and are not intended to limit the technical principles of the present invention to the specific disclosed embodiments, but the scope of the present invention is limited only by the scope of the patent application, covering substitutions, modifications, and equivalent.

Please refer to FIG. 1 to FIG. 2 , the present invention is a glass substrate polishing apparatus 100 , which is used for polishing an edge 201 of a glass substrate 200 to remove the processed burrs, avoid excessive roughness, and at the same time polish the edge 201 is polished to a certain curvature to realize that the glass substrate 200 has a 2.5D shape. The glass substrate 200 has a first surface 202 and an oppositely disposed second surface 203. The edge 201 is disposed between the first surface 202 and the second surface 203, and the edge 201 can be pre-polished by, for example, CNC before polishing. Rough machining makes the edge 201 have an upright section 201a and an oblique section 201b, the upright section 201a is connected to the second surface 203, and the inclined section 201b is connected between the first surface 202 and the upright section 201a.

20。 The polishing apparatus 100 according to the embodiment of the present invention includes a rotating shaft 10 and a plurality of polishing elements 20 .

The rotating shaft 10 is perpendicular to the first surface 202 and the second surface 203 of the glass substrate 200 and has an axis L1 along the length direction. The axis line L1 is the rotation center of the rotating shaft 10 .

Ra<0.01um。 The plurality of polishing elements 20 are straight strips and are made of wool material with softness and flexibility, and are arranged around the periphery of the rotating shaft 10 and extend along the direction of the axis L1 so as to be affected by the rotating shaft 10 . The edge 201 is polished by rotation. In the embodiment of the present invention, each polishing element 20 has a fixed end 21 and an end 22, the fixed end 21 of the polishing element 20 and an imaginary line L2 perpendicular to the axis L1 have an included angle A, and the included angle A is smaller than 90 degrees. In some embodiments, the included angle A is between 5 degrees and 70 degrees. During the polishing operation, the edge 201 of the glass substrate 200 is polished after the polishing element 20 is dipped in the polishing liquid, and the edge 201 is polished with a depth ranging from 0 mm to 20 mm. In particular, when the included angle A is set larger, the polishing element 20 can be made more suitable for the oblique section 201b Polishing, that is, the larger the angle A is, the less the first surface 202 of the glass substrate 200 will be ground, and the adverse effect on the first surface 202 of the glass substrate 200 will be prevented. The surface roughness can be Ra<0.01um.

11。 In the embodiment of the present invention, the rotating shaft 10 has a plurality of inclined holes 11 for the fixed end 21 of each polishing element 20 to be inserted and fixed in each inclined hole 11 of the rotating shaft 10 , and the fixed ends of every two polishing elements 20 There is a gap between 21, and the gap is between 1mm and 3mm. Wherein, the fixed end 21 can be adhered to the inclined hole 11 of the rotating shaft 10 in an adhesive manner.

In addition, in the embodiment of the present invention, the polishing device 100 has a fixing device 30 to clamp and set the glass substrate 200 in position. The fixing device 30 includes a first fixing portion 31 and a second fixing portion 32 . The first fixing portion 31 is for receiving the second surface 203 of the glass substrate 200 , and the second fixing portion 32 abuts against the first surface of the glass substrate 200 . Step 202 , enabling the fixing device 30 to stably position the glass substrate 200 through the first fixing portion 31 and the second fixing portion 32 , and allow the edge 201 of the glass substrate 200 to be suspended and exposed for polishing.

During the polishing operation, since each polishing element 20 is in an obliquely arranged posture, that is, the end 22 of the polishing element 20 is in contact with the edge 201 of the glass substrate 200 in an oblique direction, and when the polishing element 20 is polishing and feeding the edge 201, The upright segment 201a and the oblique segment 201b can be polished and ground with an oblique polishing force without adversely affecting the first surface 202 of the glass substrate 200, so that the edge 201 of the glass substrate 200 can be polished to a predetermined level. The arc end is angular, so that the glass substrate 200 has a 2.5D shape, as shown in FIG. 3 .

Please refer to FIG. 4 again, which is another polishing schematic diagram of the polishing apparatus 100 of the present invention. There are a plurality of glass substrates 200 , which are arranged in layers, and are set up and down by the fixing device 30 . Wherein, the fixing device 30 further includes a plurality of spacers 33 disposed between each two glass substrates 200 , the thickness of each spacer 33 is between 0.01 mm and 5 mm, and the overall plane size is smaller than that of the glass substrates 200, the spacer 33 is mainly to prevent dust from invading between each two glass substrates 200, in other words, through the spacer 33, each glass substrate 200 is only suspended to expose the edge 201, which is convenient for the polishing device 100 to polish each glass substrate 200 at the same time. In this way, the polishing device 100 can synchronously and stably perform polishing operations around the glass substrate 200, thereby increasing the efficiency of polishing operations and achieving the purpose of mass processing.

In summary, the present invention has the following advantages:

200。 1. The polishing element 20 of the present invention is disposed obliquely, so the edge 201 of the glass substrate 200 is polished in an oblique manner to form a 2.5D glass substrate 200 .

2. The fixing device 30 of the present invention clamps and sets the plurality of glass substrates 200 so as to polish the edges 201 of the plurality of glass substrates 200 at the same time, thereby improving the efficiency of the polishing operation and having the advantage of mass processing.
