Abstract

[Also in Division B8] An endless filtering belt passes from roller 14 to roller 10 and is supported therebetween by a plurality of endless rubber or plastics bands 16 running in grooves 18, 20, rubber 10 being mounted in fixed bearings 12 while roller 14 is mounted in bearings 22 on pivotable arms 24 so as to move axially as the edges of the belt press flanges 28 sideways, the bands 16 restoring the belt to its centred position on and downstream of roller 10. Bands 16 may be parallel or diverge from roller 10 to roller 14. Flanges 28 are adjustable on roller 14, and rollers 32, 34 tension bands 16 (Fig. 2, not shown). Instead of arms 24, a hollow roller 14 could be slidable axially of a fixed shaft.
