The subject of the application is also a method for their preparation, which consists in the fact that the quaternary alkyl [2- (2-hydroxyethoxy) ethyl] dimethylammonium bromide of general formula 2, wherein R is a straight chain alkyl substituent containing from four to sixteen carbon atoms, is subjected to anion exchange reaction with 2- (2,4-dichlorophenoxy) propionic acid sodium or potassium or lithium or ammonium salt in a molar ratio of quaternary ammonium salt to acid salt from 1: 0.8 to 1: 1.1, preferably 1: 1, in an aqueous environment, after which the reaction product is isolated by two-phase extraction using an organic solvent from the group: chloroform or ethyl acetate or dichloromethane, after which the organic phase is separated, the solvent is further removed and the product is dried under reduced pressure at 45 - 55 ° C. The application also contains the use of these new ammonium ionic liquids as plant protection products.
