Et billeddannende ultralyd-diagnosesystem er i stand til å gjøre tilgang til bilder og informasjon fra interne eller eksterne databaser ved hjelp av en webleser (browser). Tilgang til sådanne bilder eller informasjon kan skje over et lokalt nett eller over et verdensomspennende nett, slik som Internert. Webleseren kan for eksempel brukes for å trekke inn forhåndsinnstillingsdata for systemet eller referansebilder fra et referanse- billedbibliotek.
