Abstract

Kopolymerer av etylen og propylen, even- tuelt med mindre andeler dien eller polyen, inneholder 55-70 vekt% etylen, 30-45 vekt% propylen og opp til 10 vekt% dien eller polyen. Kopolymerenes krys- tallinitet målt som smelteentalpi, er lavere enn 15 J/g; de har over 95% opp- løselighet i pentan ved 25"C; et innhold av propylen-enheter i form av triader på mellom 3 og 10% propylen, hvorav minst 70% av triadene viser en isotaktisk struktur; produktet av monomerenes reak- tivitetsforhold r1- r2 er mellom 0,4 og 0,6; og viskositetstallet er høyere enn 3 dl/g. Kopolymerene fremstilles ved at etylen, propylen og eventuelt polyen eller dien, bringes i kontakt med en chiralkatalysa- tor omfattende et zirkonium-metallocen- derivat og en alkyl-Al-forbindelse i et inert hydrokarbon-løsningsmiddel i nær- vær av vann slik at det molare forhold A1/H20 blir større enn 1:1 men mindre enn 100:1.
