Abstract

The fixed portion bears against parts of flanges of the sliding frame extending past the outside of parts of the fixed frame, and the sliding frame itself bears against the faces of the grooves in the fixed frame in the opposite direction to the fixed one. There can be a central upright on the fixed portion with a seal working against the upright of the sliding portion when shut. The seal is on the opposite side of the central upright to the fixed groove face. There are notches in the top and bottom of the upright, accommodating flanges on the top and bottom fixed frame members.
