Abstract

La tobera efectua tres etapas de atomizacion de líquido. La primera etapa se lleva a cabo por medio de un solo orificio de líquido y una cámara de expansion que contiene una terminal de choque. Una corriente de líquido a velocidad elevada se descarga a través del orificio de líquido y se dispersa en partículas finamente atomizadas al chocar con el extremo plano de la terminal de choque. La segunda etapa se produce mediante una guía de aire que reduce un área para conformar chorros de aire en una cortina anular de aire a velocidad elevada, la cortina pasa a través del orificio de líquido en relacion circundante con la corriente de líquido y choca con las partículas atomizadas de la primera etapa para atomizar de manera adicional las partículas. Se le permite entonces a la mezcla expandirse en la cámara de expansion para reducir la tendencia de las partículas de líquido en la mezcla atomizada a unirse y volver a formar partículas más grandes. La tercera etapa se efectua mediante la cámara de expansion y mediante los orificios multiples de descarga. La mezcla se rocía a partir de la cámara de expansion a través de los multiples orificios y, al descargarse en la atmosfera, las partículas se atomizan de manera adicional debido a la liberacion de la presion formada dentro de la cámara de expansion.
