Abstract

Se describe un proceso para fabricar geles inorgánicos mediante la reacción de tetraalcoxiortosilicatos, tetraalcoxititanatos y tetraalcoxizirconatos con ácidos carboxílicos fuertes. Inicialmente no necesita estar presente el agua como reactivo. Por lo tanto se producen geles inorgánicos ópticamente claros, de tamaño de poro muy pequeño, de distribución de tamaño de poro estrecha, y con un área superficial específica elevada útiles para revestimientos resistentes a la abrasión, aplicaciones ópticas, soportes para catalizadores o enzimas, separación de gases o empaques cromatográficos.
