Abstract

La presente invención está dirigida a la síntesis de homo-beta-aminoácidos de una pureza óptica suficiente para exhibir actividad óptica cuando se efectúa el rearreglo de Curtius de hemiéster ácido de succinato 3-mono-substituido de una pureza óptica suficiente para exhibir actividad óptica y se atrapa el isocianato incipiente con un alcohol primario o secundario. Los homo-beta-aminoésteres protegidos por carbamato resultantes se saponifican después para producir los correspondientes homo-beta-aminoácidos protegidos por carbamato que se desprotegen para producir homo-beta-aminoácidos de una pureza óptica suficiente para exhibir actividad óptica.
