Abstract

Se proporciona un sistema de gestión de inventario de múltiples entidades que incluye contenedores de almacenamiento reasignables y un método para gestionar el inventario de productos de diferentes entidades, por ejemplo, vendedores, en una o más instalaciones que incluyen una o más estructuras de almacenamiento atendidas por manipuladores robóticos. Cada contenedor de almacenamiento almacena uno o más de los productos. Un sistema de gestión de inventario computarizado (CIMS, por sus siglas en inglés) almacena registros digitales que incluyen identificadores de entidad, catálogos de productos que contienen identificadores de productos de los productos ofrecidos por cada entidad a los clientes e identificadores únicos de contenedor asignados a los contenedores de almacenamiento. El CIMS ejecuta una transferencia digital de la propiedad del inventario de una entidad con existencias a una entidad sin existencias, por ejemplo, con base en un déficit de inventario, una ausencia completa de inventario de la entidad sin existencias, pedidos recibidos para el inventario de productos, etcétera. Junto con un intercambio de inventario a través de los contenedores de almacenamiento, el CIMS ejecuta el comercio entre las entidades e implementa la reserva de inventario.
