Abstract

Se proporcionan composiciones y métodos para tratar material lignocelulásico con una enzima de tipo xilanasa que presenta actividad xilanasa. La enzima es estable y activa a temperaturas y pH elevados. Por lo tanto, la presente invención proporciona métodos para hidrolizar material lignocelulósico, especialmente celulosa y hemicelulosa, que son los principales componentes de la pared celular de plantas leñosas y no leñosas.
