Abstract

La presente invención se refiee a método para elaborar un moldeado lateral de carrocería para un vehículo a partir de un tramo de material termoplástico extruído que tiene un perfil prácticamente uniforme en la dirección de extrusión y que tiene una primera superficie interna destinada a encarar hacia el vehículo y una segunda superficie externa destinada para ser vista, que comprende las etapas de: a) proporcionar una primera sección de molde que tiene una cavidad contorneada; b) colocar el tramo del material extruído en la cavidad con la segunda superficie externa vuelta hacia la cavidad; c) mantener la primera sección del molde a una temperatura por abajo de la temperatura de reblandecimiento del material termoplástico; d) llevar una segunda sección de molde que tenga una cara de moldeo y el tramo de material colocado; y e) comprimir la segunda sección de molde contra el tramo de material extruído por calentarlo y reconfigurarlo en conformidad con la cavidad.
