Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un método para suministrar combustible a un motor de combustión interna que tiene un cilindro en el que se prepara una carga combustible y una cabeza de cilindro que cierra un extremo de dicho cilindro, un dispositivo de ignición montado en una cavidad en dicha cabeza para encender la carga combustible, un pistón o émbolo soportado para moverse en forma reciprocante en dicho cilindro y un orificio de escape en la pared del cilindro espaciado en dirección axial de la cabeza de cilindro; el método se caracteriza por inyectar una cantidad dosificada de combustible hacia el cilindro desde un sólo inyector localizado en la pared del cilindro entre el nivel del orificio de escape y la cabeza del cilindro, el combustible se inyecta en forma de cuando menos dos corrientes o flujos individuales, dichas corrientes están dispuestas del tal forma que una primera parte del combustible se dirija hacia el dispositivo de ignición en la cavidad de la cabeza de cilindro y una segunda parte del combustible se dirija hacia aquélla porción del cilindro en el lado opuesto de un plano diametral del cilindro en la localización de inyección de combustible a la cabeza del cilindro.
