냉각수의 온도를 감지한 뒤에 이를 전기적인 신호로 변환하여 출력하는 수온센서(10)와, 차량의 상태를 감지하기 위한 각종의 센서로 이루어져 있는 센서부(20)와, 운전자가 필요에 따라 자동차 수온센서의 고장 진단장치를 동작시키기 위한 동작 스위치(SW)와, 상기한 동작 스위치(SW)가 온되어 있는 경우에, 상기한 센서부(20)로부터 입력되는 신호에 따른 자동차 운행 조건마다 상기한 수온센서(10)로부터 입력되는 수온에 관한 데이터를 누적 저장시킨 뒤에, 누적 저장된 데이터의 평균치와 감지된 수온의 차이의 절대값이 기준치 이상인 경우에는 경고표시를 하고, 기준치 이하인 경우에는 경고표시를 해제하기 위한 제어신호를 출력하는 마이크로 컨트롤러(30)와, 상기한 마이크로 컨트롤러(30)의 출력단에 입력단이 연결되어 있는 경고 표시부(40)를 포함하여 이루어지며, 자동차가 동작되고 있는 상태에서 감지되는 수온을 각각의 조건별로 분류하여 누적하여 저장시켜 놓은 데이터를 이용하여 수온센서의 동작상태를 판단함으로써 판정의 신뢰도를 높일수가 있는 효과를 가진 자동차 수온센서의 고장 진단장치 및 방법을 제공한다.The water temperature sensor 10 for detecting the temperature of the coolant and converting it into an electrical signal and outputting it, the sensor unit 20 including various sensors for detecting the state of the vehicle, and the driver's water temperature as needed.
