일반적으로 카울사이드부는 대시상부판넬 좌우측 선단에 부착되어 자동차 카울부의 강성을 부여하는 역할을 하는바, 이같은 역할을 하는 카울사이드부의 종래 결합구조는 제 3 도에 도시된 바와같이 대시상부판넬(12)과 카울사이드(11)를 아아크용접부와 스폿트용접부로 접합시킨뒤에 휠에이프런보강판(14)을 다시 아아크용접부와 스폿트용접부로 결합시키도록 되어 있었다. 그러나 이러한 종래의 카울사이드부의 결합구조는 상기 카울사이드(11) 대시상부판넬(12) 및 휠에이프런 보강판(14)등에 접합되어 폐단면을 형성하므로서 용접결합시키기가 곤란할 뿐만 아니라 이들의 폐단면 부위를 아아크용접으로 작업함에 따라 작업공수 및 설비가 증가되어지는 문제점이 있었다.In general, the cowlside part is attached to the left and right ends of the dash upper panel and serves to impart rigidity of the automobile cowl part.
