Description
The present invention relates to an ion wind heat dissipation device for performing heat dissipation using ion wind.
In general, electronic equipment generates a lot of heat during operation, and the generated heat acts as a factor deteriorating the performance of the electronic equipment. Therefore, a heat dissipation device is essential for electronic equipment.
With the trend of miniaturization of electronic equipment, the integration density of micro electronic devices is getting higher and higher. However, as the density of microelectronic devices is getting smaller and larger, the degree of heat integration increases, so there is a lot of heat generated from electronic devices. If this heat is not sufficiently discharged to the outside, the Performance and lifespan are lowered, and it may cause failure due to deformation due to heat. Accordingly, the cooling device is also required to be miniaturized and improved in performance.
In order to cool the heat dissipation structure attached to the heating element of the conventional electronic equipment, natural convection through a heat sink is used or a blower fan is used to cool it. Among them, when using a heat sink, there is a problem in that it is difficult to miniaturize electronic devices because the volume and area must be increased. In addition, since air is forcibly flowed in the case of heat dissipation using a blower fan, the resulting foreign matter collides with the rotating body and wears the rotating body, shortening the lifespan, causing vibration and noise, and making it difficult to miniaturize the mechanical structure. There is this.
In order to solve the problem of heat dissipation by a heat sink or a blowing fan, a heat dissipation device using ion wind has been proposed. Ion wind refers to the wind generated when the air is ionized by applying a high voltage to an electrode such as a probe or a thin wire to cause a corona discharge and then moving it in a strong electric field.
This cooling using ion wind has several advantages, such as high reliability, low noise, low power, and miniaturization, since there is no element driven by a motor unlike the conventional blower fan.
However, unlike the conventional fan cooling method that generates a generally uniform cooling flow, the ion wind is concentrated and flows around the electrode, so that there is a problem in that uneven cooling flow occurs and heat exchange efficiency is lowered.
Prior Invention 1 (KR10-2016-0141049A) and Prior Invention 2 (KR10-1513402B1) disclose a heat dissipation device using ion wind, but a configuration for uniformly flowing the ion wind is not disclosed.
One problem to be solved by the present invention is to provide an ion wind heat dissipating device having high heat exchange efficiency between the ion wind and a heat sink by making the flow of ion wind uniform.
The ion wind heat dissipation device according to an embodiment of the present invention arranges a streamlined heat dissipation fin after the wire with respect to the flow direction of the ion wind, thereby minimizing the flow differential pressure of the ion wind passing through the streamlined heat dissipation fin, and making the flow velocity profile uniform and the heat dissipation performance of the heat sink. This can be improved.

An ion wind heat dissipating device according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a heat dissipating case in thermal contact with a heating component and having an inlet and an outlet; A wire to which a voltage is applied and generating an ion wind flowing into the inlet; And a streamlined radiating fin provided inside the radiating case. The streamlined heat dissipation fin may include a leading edge positioned at or facing the inlet; And a trailing edge located farther than the leading edge with respect to the inlet.
It may further include a wire fixing frame disposed at the entrance and on which the wire is mounted.
It may further include a mesh disposed between the leading edge and the wire and electrically grounded.
A plurality of wires and streamlined radiating fins are provided in parallel, and a first virtual plane passing through the plurality of wires and a second virtual plane passing through a leading edge of the plurality of streamlined radiating fins may be parallel to each other.
According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, by arranging the streamlined heat dissipation fin after the wire with respect to the flow direction of the ion wind, the flow velocity profile becomes uniform and the heat dissipation performance of the heat sink is improved while minimizing the flow differential pressure of the ion wind past the streamlined heat dissipation fin. I can.
In addition, the streamlined heat dissipation fin not only makes the flow velocity profile of the ion wind uniform, but can also heat exchange with the ion wind. As a result, the heat exchange performance of the heat sink can be improved.
In addition, since an electrically grounded mesh is disposed between the wire and the streamlined radiating fin, ionized air around the wire flows to the streamlined radiating fin by an electric field between the wire and the mesh, thereby generating ion wind.
In addition, since the mesh is electrically grounded, the ion wind passing through the mesh may be electrically neutralized. Accordingly, it is possible to minimize the possibility that the ion wind that has performed heat radiation may affect the surrounding electronic components, and the flow path may be prevented from being distorted by the heat radiation fins including a metal material.
In addition, the streamlined heat dissipation fin has a blade or airfoil shape, and may include a leading edge facing the mesh and a trailing edge located farther than the leading edge based on the mesh. As a result, the ion wind flows along the streamlined heat dissipation fin from the leading edge to the trailing edge, and the flow velocity profile can be uniform.
In addition, the first virtual plane passing through the plurality of wires and the second virtual plane passing through the leading edges of the plurality of streamlined radiating fins may be parallel to each other. Accordingly, the distribution of ion wind can be made more uniform by the arrangement.
In addition, the mesh may be disposed parallel to the first and second virtual planes. This allows the ion wind heat dissipation device to be compact.
In addition, since the normal radiating fin is disposed after the streamlined radiating fin with respect to the flow direction of the ion wind, heat exchange efficiency between the ion wind having a uniform flow velocity profile and the normal radiating fin may be increased.
In addition, the number of streamlined radiating fins may be less than the number of normal radiating fins. Since the manufacturing cost of the streamlined radiating fin is relatively expensive, the manufacturing cost of the ion wind radiating device may be reduced.
In addition, the streamlined heat dissipation fin and the normal heat dissipation fin may protrude from the heat sink and the wire may be perpendicular to the heat sink. This minimizes the ion wind formed around the wire from hitting the heat sink directly, thereby maintaining a uniform ion wind flow velocity profile.
In addition, when the streamlined radiating fins and the normal radiating fins are located inside the radiating case, ion wind is guided to the inside by the radiating case, so that the heat exchange efficiency of the streamlined radiating fins and the normal radiating fins may be further increased.
Further, since the wire fixing frame is disposed in a horizontal direction with respect to the heat dissipation case or the heat dissipation plate, the ion wind heat dissipation device can be compactly formed in the vertical direction. There is an advantage that it can be installed in a product having a narrow installation space such as a thin notebook, a semiconductor, or a communication device.
