Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a heat storage tank from bursting by a method wherein a safety valve made of a thin film which bursts when internal pressure exceeds a predetermined level is provided on the heat storage tank equipped with a heat exchanger therein. CONSTITUTION:A heat storage device 2 for a heat pump type air conditioning apparatus accommodates a heat storage material 9 such as a latent heat storage type paraffin in the interior of a heat storage tank 8 and also houses a heat exchanger 3 for heat storage and a heat exchanger 10 for heat absorption therein. When the heat exchanger 3 or 10 for heat storage or heat absorption in the interior of the heat storage tank 13 is cracked by some cause and a refrigerant leaks during heating operation, the internal pressure of the heat storage tank 13 increases extraordinarily, and when the internal pressure exceeds a predetermined level, a thin film 17 constituting a safety valve 14 bursts to discharge the refrigerant and the heat storage material 9 in the inside of the heat storage tank 13 to the external side. Further, it is desired that a protecting film 19 is provided on the outer side of the thin film 17 to obtain corrosion resistance of the thin film 17 by shutting it off from the external environment and to make said protecting film 19 serve as a shock absorbing material at the time of the bursting of the thin film 17.
