Abstract

PURPOSE:To easily and efficiently set a format, by reading out the existing format information of a document from an existing format registering means by a readout means, and setting a new format based on the format information by a format setting means, at the time of setting the format of the document. CONSTITUTION:When format setting is indicated by using a mouse 18 or a keyboard 20 during the edit of the document, the display picture of a CRT16 is shifted to a format setting picture.
