Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 〔産業上の利用分野〕 本発明は治療部位を照明する手段を有する歯科用ハンド
ピースのコントラ・アングル（ｃｏｎｔｒａ−ａｈｇｌ
ｅ　）に関する。
〔従来の技術〕
歯科医の作業能率を向上させるために、作業器具、即ち
、歯科用ハンドピースそれ自体と治療部位を照明するた
めの照明手段とを一体化するという着想は従来からすで
に提案されてきている。
例えば、ヨーロッパ特許第３４２３７号はハンドピース
の様々な部分を通過する光ファイバーを具備した照明器
具であって、その発光端を該器具の端部に向けたものを
提案しているｏｆた、他のシステムとして、％に、コン
トラ・アングルの頭部端内に組み込んで治療部位の方向
へ向くようにした複数の小型電気バルブを使用したもの
も考えられている。
現在までに企図された解決策は十分満足できるものでな
く、ｈ〈つかの欠点を持っている。コントラ・アングル
の頭部端に組み込まれたパルプの場合には、パルプが嵩
高になるという大きな欠点がある。これらのパルプは冷
却水供給パイプが開口する非常に限定された区域に設置
されなければならず、かつ仮に小型バルブを使用したと
きでさえ、その嵩高さを最良の大きさまで縮少するのは
困難なことである。更に１これらのパルプは治療部位に
できる限シ接近させて設置されなければならないので歯
のエナメル質と接触したり、パルプを傷つける危険のあ
る衝撃を受けたりしやすへ更Ｋ。
必要に応じてそれらを取プ換える目的のために完全に接
触して自由自在に動かすことはできるが冷却水または塵
埃からこれらのパルプとそのハウジングとの間の空間を
完全に密閉することは不可能である。光ファイバを使用
する場合には、光ファイバが頭部端まで埋め込まれてい
ると発光端が適度な角度で屈折できないために発光端を
治療部位に対して適切に配向させることが困難くなる０
また、光ファイバの先端がハンドピースから出現してい
ると、光ファイバは保護されず、発光する前端部が治療
の間に傷つけられ、光束が相当に小さくなる危険がある
。
〔発明が解決しようとする問題点〕
そこで本発明は光線を治療または治療部位の方向へ精確
に案内する水密な照明手段を具備した歯科用ハンドピー
スのコントラ・アングルを提供しのコントラ・アングル
は、光源がコントラ嗜アングルの本体内部に組み入れら
れ、かつ該光源の酊部において、該コントラ・アングル
の頭部近傍に設けられた凹所内に埋め込まれ、かつ治療
部位に向かって該光線を屈折させることのできるように
配置された光線を屈折させる光学要素が挿入されている
。
〔実施　例〕
以下、本発明の実施例を示す添付図面を参照して本発明
を詳述する。
本発明のコントラ・アングルの本体１の前部において、
器具を装備した頭部ｌ＆付近にワイヤ３によってプラグ
４に連結された２個のパルプ２が取り付けられていて、
該プラグは図示されていないハンドピースから延びるワ
イヤに連結されている。各パルプ２の前面には該コント
ラ書アングルの本体内の凹所に埋め込まれたプリズムが
挿入されていて光線を治療部位６の方向へ屈折させるよ
うに配置されている。
上記本体内に埋め込まれている上記プリズム５は水蜜ス
トッパを形成していて塵埃または水が上記パルプ２のハ
ウジングおよびコントラ儀アングルの中へ浸入するの含
防ぐ。このプリズム５はその前面８を介して照明する光
線の全反射を可能にするためにその作業面７に対して最
適な方法でフチセットされていてよい。この傾斜角度は
光線が器具９の治療部位に向って直線になるように選択
されている。全反射は損失を伴うことなく光の放射量を
最大にする。
添付図面の実施態様において、上記プリズムはコントラ
のアングルの本体内にほぼ完全に挿入されている。しか
し、上記本体の周壁を越えないように完全く埋め込むこ
とも同様に可能である。
本発明の他の実施態様として、特に光源に関して、直線
通路、プリズム、または治療部位に対して光線を一直線
に案内するその他の光学要素と共にコントラ−アングル
の本体内に完全に挿通された光フアイバ一手段によって
具現化されるものであってよい。
また、上記プリズムの代シに他の光学要素、例えば、所
望の位置に光線を反射させるよう忙配向した鏡を使用す
ることもできる。
〔作用ボよヅ゛を力累］ この装置の利点は自明である。即ち、パルプまたは屈曲
しない光ファイバからなり、コントラ・アングルの本体
内側に完全に組み入れられている光源がコントラ・アン
グルそのものによって保護されることにある。コントラ
・アングルの本体内に可能な限り深く挿入されているの
が好ましいが、事実上、該本体の周壁から突出しないよ
うに設けられた光学要素が種々の衝Ｓまたは歯との接触
によって損傷を受ける危険はない。更に、この光学要素
はコントラ・アングルの壁面内に埋め込まれているので
光源のハウジングの水密を確実にし、治療中の塵埃また
は水の流入を遮断する。

Claims (1)

  1. 【特許請求の範囲】 １、治療部位を照明するための手段を具備した歯科用ハ
    ンドピースのコントラ・アングルであって、前記コント
    ラ・アングルの支持部本体内側に組み入れられた少なく
    とも１個の光源と、該光源の前部に挿入されて光線を屈
    折させる光学要素とからなり、前記光学要素が前記本体
    の頭部近傍に設けられた凹所内に埋め込まれ、かつ治療
    部位の方向へ光線を屈折させるべく配設されていること
    を特徴とする歯科用ハンドピースのコントラ・アングル
    。 ２、上記光学要素がプリズムである、特許請求の範囲第
