Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 する。
従来からゴルフポールの主流を占めている糸巻きゴルフ
ポールけ、反撥弾性が高くインパクト時の初速度が大き
いという特長を有するが、耐久性に欠けるという致命的
な欠点がある。
そこで、この耐久性の悪さを解消するために高反撥弾性
の一体成形し光ソリツドコアーと耐カット性の良好なカ
バーとからなるツーピースソリッドゴルフボールが開発
されてきたが、このようなツーピースソリッドゴルフボ
ールも現状では必ずしも満足すべきものとはいえず、よ
り一層高性能に改良することが要望されている。
木発明者はそのような要望に応えるべく種々研究を重ね
た結果、ソリッドコアーの硬度分布をＪＩＳ−Ｃ形硬度
計で表層が７２〜７８、表層から中心に向って５記内側
で７７〜８８、さらに５闘内側で７２〜８０、さらに５
朋内側で６７〜７５、さらに内側が７５以下にするとき
は、反撥弾性が高く、かつ耐久性のすぐれたツーピース
ソリッドゴルフボールが得られることを見出し、本発明
を完成するにいたった。
すなわち、ソリッドコアーは半径が１８．０〜１９．５
鯖程度とか々りの厚さを有するにもかかわらず、従来は
ゴムの加硫に際して一般的に採用されているような加硫
方法、たとえば約１６５°Ｃ前後の一定温度で所定時間
加硫するという方法によって加硫されていたため、表層
部の加硫が過剰気味で、中心部がやや低めに加硫され、
表層部の硬度が高くなりすぎて耐衝撃性が低くなり、そ
の結果、ボールとしての耐久性が低下し、また、これを
避けるために採用されている低温長時間加硫では中心部
を最適加硫にあわせるため、表層部はどうしても加硫が
低めになって、弾性率の高いカバーとの間で弾性率の差
が大きくなり、それがボールの反撥弾性を阻害して低く
させる原因になっていた。そこで本発明はソリッドコア
ーの硬度分布が反撥弾性と耐久性に及ぼす影響について
研究を重ね、各部位の適正な硬度範囲を探求し前記のよ
うに特定することによって、高反撥弾性でかつ耐久性の
すぐれたツーピースソリッドボールが得られるようにし
たのである。
本発明においてソリッドコアーの硬度分布（吐、ＪＩＳ
−Ｃ形硬度計で表層が７２〜７８、表層から中心に向っ
て５朋内側で７７〜８８、さらに５所屑内側で７２〜８
０、さらＫ　５　ｔｘｐｉ内側で６７〜７５、さらに内
側７５に７５以下というように、表層から５所屑内側に
進むにしたがって硬度が少し高く々す、さらに内側に進
むにしたがって硬度が頴次下がっていくの力玉好ましい
。ソリッドコアーがこのような硬度分布を持つようにす
るには、温度を段階的に要件させて加硫することＫよっ
て達成される。その好ましい加硫方法の一例を示すと、
１２０〜１４０°Ｃで８〜５分間加硫し、ついで１８０
〜１５０’Ｃで５〜２０分間加硫し、さらに１４０〜１
６０°Ｃで５〜２０分間加硫する方法である。
本発明においてソリッドコアーを形成するだめの組成物
としては、たとえばシス−１，４−ポ１ノブタジエンゴ
ム１００部（重量部、以下同様）、アクリル酸塩または
メタクリル酸塩２０〜６０部、酸化亜鉛４０〜６０部お
よびジクミルノザーオキサイドなどの過酸化物０．５〜
５部からなる組成物が好ましい。
またソリッドコアーを被覆するカバーとしては、アイオ
ノマー樹脂やポリフレタン、ポリアセタールなどを主材
とし、要すればこれに着色などの目的で無機充填剤、た
とえば二酸化チタン、酸化亜鉛などを含有させたものが
好ましく、特にアイオノマー樹脂を主材とするものが耐
カット性がすぐれていることから好ましい。
ソリッドコアーにカバーを被覆する方法は特に限定的で
はないが、通常はあらかじめ半球殻状に成形した２枚の
カバーでソリッドコアーを包み、約１７０℃で２分間加
圧成形する方法が採用される。
また、カバー用組成物を射出成形してソリッドコアーを
包み込んでもよい。
つぎに実施例をあげて本発明を説明する。
実施例１〜２および比較例１〜４ 第１表に示す組成のコアー用組成物をモールド中で加硫
（加熱加圧成形）して直径８７．１朋の６株類のソリッ
ドコアーを得た。
第　　　１　　　表 上記加硫時の条件（モールドの設定温度と時間）と得ら
れたソリッドコアーの硬度分布を第２表に示す。
また上記ソリッドコアーを第２表に示す組成からなるカ
バーで包み、ゴルフボール用モールド中１７０℃で、２
分間加圧成形して直径４１．３ｍｉのツーピースソリッ
ドゴルフボールを得た。
得られたツーピースソリッドゴルフボールの物性値を第
２表に示す。
第２表に示すように実施例１および２のボールは初速度
が大きく、かつ耐久性がすぐれている。
これに対し比較例１および８のボールは耐久性が非常に
悪く実用に適しない。これはソリッドコアーの加硫をコ
アー全体の加硫を考慮して高温かつ一定温度で加硫して
いるため、表層部の加硫が過剰になり、中心部の加硫が
低めになって表層部の硬度が高くなりすぎているためで
あると考１えられる。また比較例２および４のボールは
実施例１および２のボールと同程度の耐久性を有するが
、初速度が低い。これはコアー中心部を最適加硫にする
ため低温長時間加硫を採用しているので、表層部の加硫
が低く、弾性率の高いカバーとの間の弾性率の差が大き
くなって、両者の境界層でボール打撃時の圧縮弾性の力
の伝達に断層が生じ、それがボールの反撥弾性を阻害す
るためであると考えられる。

ドコアーの硬度分布を第４表に示す。
上記のソリッドコアーを第４表に示す組成のカバーでイ
ンジェクション成形機により直接コアー表面に被覆し、
直径４２．８ｍｍのツーピースソリッドゴルフボールを
得た。
得られたツーピースソリッドゴルフボールの特性値を第
４表に示す。
第３表 第４表に示すように、実施例３のボールは初速度が大き
く、かつ耐久性がすくれている。これに対し比較例５の
ボールは耐久性が悪く、実用に適しない。また比較例６
のボールは初速度が低く、かつ耐久性が悪い。」 以上

  1. 【特許請求の範囲】 １、ＪＩＳ−Ｃ形硬度計で表層が７２〜７８、表層から
    中心に向って５問内側で７７〜８３、さらに５間内側で
    ７２〜８０、さらに５朋内側で６７〜７５、さらに内側
    が７５以下の硬度分布を持つソリッドコアーヲカバーで
    被覆してなるツーピースソリッドゴルフボール。 ２、　カバーがアイオノマー樹脂を主材として構成され
    ている特許請求の範囲第１項記載のゴルフポール。 ８、　ソリッドコアーが１，４−シス−ポリブタジェン
    ゴムをゴム成分とする組成物で形成されている特許請求
    の範囲第１項または第２項記載のゴルフポール。
