DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a manufacturing method and apparatus for molding an arcuate wire wrapping protective cover (particularly a protective cover for motorcycle or automobile tires), and particularly relates to a manufacturing method and an apparatus for molding a circular arc wire wrapping protective cover (particularly a protective cover for motorcycle or automobile tires). The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing an arcuate wire-wrapped protective cover, which is formed by shearing, wrapping the periphery of the cover (that is, wrapping the edges with iron wire, etc.), and then directly pressing and forming it at high speed, and an apparatus used therefor.

According to the molding method used to manufacture the traditional wire-wrap arc-shaped protective cover, two types of production processes and methods are often adopted, such as the lower one.

(1) After shearing the raw material plate into the shape when the protective cover is unfolded, it is pressed and molded, and then the periphery of the molded product is adjusted and the three or four sides of the molded product are further trimmed. A hard wire such as iron wire is wrapped around the periphery, thereby strengthening the arc-shaped protective cover.

Although this is the most common manufacturing method and has been used for a long time, it is clear that this method first presses the raw material plate to form it into an arc shape, and then further refines its periphery to wrap around the wire. Therefore, it is not easy to do, especially after being pressed and formed, there are wrinkles on the periphery, resulting in poor quality, and the wire is wrapped around the periphery, which inevitably affects the production speed. Not suitable for mass production.

Therefore, manufacturers in this field are trying to develop a second manufacturing method as follows. (2) After shearing the raw material plate to make a cover plate of a certain shape, wrap the wire around only two sides of the cover plate (if you wrap the wire on three or four sides, (During rolling, the wrapping line hits the roller and becomes inoperable.) After wrapping the edge line, the cover plate is further rolled to form an arc-shaped protective cover.

In this method of manufacturing by rolling the cover plate after wrapping the wire around the periphery, during actual manufacturing, the cover plate that has been wrapped around the edges of the two sides is rolled, so it is relatively difficult to manufacture. Although it is easy to produce, it can be imagined that it is difficult to require uniformity and perfection of production standards.

Comparing the manufacturing process with the first method described above, this method seems to be able to omit one step, but it is not very convenient in practice. After rolling, the horizontal cut surface has a slightly round groove shape.
However, since the arc shape is created by deformation due to residual stress when the cover plate is rolled, the degree of curvature is not uniform. On the other hand, it is still not possible to provide so many advantages in the production operation of arc-shaped protective covers. In addition, the strength of the product is slightly lower than that of a product with wire wrapping on three sides (i.e., three sides) because the wire wraps only on two sides. In order to improve the above-mentioned deficiencies, the present invention provides a new manufacturing apparatus, thereby achieving continuous production of arc-shaped wire wrapping protective covers. Hereinafter, the present invention will be explained in detail using the drawings.

The three wire wrapping edges 21 and 22, 22 or the four wire wrapping edges 21, 21 and 22, 22 of the workpiece 20 have already coated the wire and become hard (as shown in FIGS. 3A-3B). ) The mold tool 15 is formed of a lower base 30, a pair of sliding molds 10, 10, and a sliding block 11.
A sliding block 11 is disposed at one or both ends of the 0 (as shown in FIGS. 6A-6B). Since the rear side surface 110 of the sliding block 11 receives the pressing force of the compression spring 12, the sliding block 11 is inserted into the upper right slot 3 of the lower base 30.
It is designed to be able to slide in the longitudinal direction within the groove 32 of 1, and always tries to expand in the forward direction under the pressure of the compression spring 12 and tries to enter the inside of the mold opening 101. Therefore, the arcuate end 111 at the front end of the sliding block 11 slightly enters into the mold opening 101 of the sliding molds 10, 10, and the length of its entry can be adjusted by the adjusting screw 120 of the compression spring 12. The above sliding type 10, 10
is movably mounted on the lower base 30 of the mold tool 15, and near the inside of the sliding molds 10, 10 there is provided a respective groove 14, 14 (shown in FIGS. 5A-5B). ) has been established. What is combined with the sliding molds 10 and 10 is one pressure mold 40 and a punch 50, and the structure of the pressure mold 40 is an arc-shaped structure with a punch slot 43 opened in the middle under the pressure plate 41. Suppression block 42
The arcuate pressure protuberance 42 of the pressure mold 40 is used to push the wire wrap periphery 22, 22 of the workpiece 20 into the grooves 14, 14 of the sliding molds 10, 10. The workpiece 20 is pressed into a curved plate-like body in advance. A punch slot 43 provided in the middle of the pressure mold 40 is used to guide the pressing operation of the punch 50. The structure of the punch 50 is naturally the above-mentioned sliding type 10,1.
It is formed into an appropriate arc shape to match the mold opening 101 of 0. If the punch 50 is pressed downward, the suppression mold 4
The semi-finished product, which has been pre-pressed and fixed by 0 to form a curved plate-like body, is immediately and smoothly pressed to form a wire wrapping protective cover having a suitable arc shape (see FIGS. 4A and 4B). The press operation process using the above-mentioned novel manufacturing equipment will be briefly described as follows. (1) Preparatory work (as shown in FIG. 1A) The sliding molds 10, 10 are mounted on the lower base 30 of the molding tool 15, and then the right wire wrapping periphery 21 of the workpiece 20 is attached to the sliding block. It is placed on the upper edge 112 of the arcuate end 111 of No. 11.

Furthermore, the suppression mold 40 and the punch 50 are accurately moved to the sliding molds 10 and 1.
0 vertically above the mold opening 101. (2) Pressure press (shown in Figures 1B and 5A) The above-mentioned pressure mold 40
is moved downward first to perform pressing, thereby pressing the workpiece 20 into a curved plate-shaped body in advance,
Then, the wire wrap peripheries 22, 22 on both sides of the workpiece 20 are fitted into the grooves 14, 14 of the sliding molds 10, 10, and at the same time, the wire wrap peripheries 22, 22 of the workpiece 20 are tightly pressed. (
3) Completion of the press (shown in Figures 1C, 5B, and 6B) A feature of the above-mentioned sliding molds 10, 10 is that the sliding block 11 disposed at one end (or both ends) Not only can it be slid in a direction perpendicular to the thickness direction, but the sliding molds 10, 10 on both sides can also be slid inward in the thickness direction to assist in forming with a punch.

The grooves 14, 14 provided on the inner side of the upper edges of the two sliding dies 10, 10 are connected to the wire wrapping peripheries 22, 22 on both sides of the workpiece.
It is further pressed tightly against the above-mentioned suppression mold 40, and when the punch 50 descends for the first time, the sliding molds 10, 10 slide inward in the thickness direction to fit better. This serves as a buffing material against the deformation of the workpiece 20, thereby avoiding rupture and also preventing the workpiece 20 from slipping through.
Therefore, the pressing operation can be completed reliably, and the workpiece can be reliably pressed to form a suitably arcuate wire wrapping protective cover. The molding process and order of the workpiece 20 are as shown in the figures 2A to 4B.

That is, it is completed through major processes such as shearing into a certain shape, wire wrapping, and pressing. Briefly, first, a raw material board is sheared into the shape and dimensions when the protective cover is unfolded to form a covered board, and then hard wire is coated around the periphery of three or four sides of the cover board. Finally, the wire-covered (wire-wrapped) workpiece is placed on the molding tool and directly pressed to form the workpiece. According to the method of the present invention, the manufacturing process can be greatly shortened. According to the results of the inventor's tests, this method can save more than % of the working time compared to the conventional method, and therefore a large cost reduction can be expected.
