ハンドルを装着した舵取軸と、舵取軸を回転自在に軸支
したステアリングコラムと、ステアリングコラムを車体
部分に装着するコラムブラケットを有し、前記コラムブ
ラケットはステアリングコラムに固定された中央部分と
その両側に位置する取付部とを備え、夫々の取付部はス
テアリングコラムの軸方向に少くとも衝撃吸収ストロー
クに近い長さの取付ボルト通路を有し、前記取付ボルト
通路は車体部分に装着した取付ボルトに前記取付、部の
上下両面を挾む係止金具を設けたボルト孔と共に嵌合し
、取付部および係止金具の少くとも一方の接触面にすべ
り摩擦係数の少い物質の被膜を設け、衝突時に前記取付
ボルトの締付力のもとてコラムブラケットが係止金具か
ら早期に離脱することなく滑動することにより衝突のエ
ネルギーを吸収することを特徴とする衝撃吸収ステアリ
