PURPOSE:To shorten sharply the time for changing steps of a detector to change sizes of a sample material by automatically putting on and off, and taking the core out of a coil by arranging a supporting structure and an automatic setting device of a detecting coil on a platform. CONSTITUTION:In case of an eddy-current crack detection of a steel pipe, for example, a stopper 31 with the same diameter as that of the pipe is set to a stopper table 30 with a three-point supporting structure in order to take out the core to meet with the diameter of the pipe. On the other hand, a detecting coil 13-2 to set at a saturation coil 13-1 is chosen from a plurality of coils 13-2 of vairous coil diameters, and a base cart 16 is moved and stopped at the place where the detecting coil of the suitable pipe diameter matches wth an inserting hole 13H of the saturation coil 13-1. Then a platform 10 is moved up and down by an elevator and stopped at a certain height. Thus preparation before testing is completed.
