Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide an automatic center confirming device capable of preventing the deterioration of the centering accuracy by measuring the diameter of a reference part different from that at the time of the centering operation on the reference of the centered point after completion of the automatic centering operation and comparing the value obtained with the set value.
CONSTITUTION: A center detecting tool 11 is mounted on a main shaft 4a of a machine tool 23 in opposite to a reference part 10 formed in a material W to be detected such as a work or the like. When a centering measurement is carried out by correlatively moving the center detecting tool 11 and a reference part 10 in the diametral direction, detecting means 24 detects the contact between the tool 11 and reference part 10. A centering control circuit 20 carries out the selection of direction as well as axis for centering, and controls the correlative movement of the main shaft 4a or the material W to be detected by a feed pulse and a contact signal from detecting means 24 thereby to successively carry out the centering operation. After the completion of the centering operation, the center detecting tool 11 or the material to be detected is moved different from that at the time of the centering operation on the reference of the centered point thereby to measure the diameter of the reference part.
