Abstract

PURPOSE:To sweep any broadcast frequency while improving tuning precision by applying a voltage synthesizer system, utilizing an S curve signal for acquiring a right tuning point and stopping the sweep during sweeping channel selection, to an electronic tuner. CONSTITUTION:When a changeover switch 28 is placed at an automatic sweep mode position and an up-key 29 is pushed, a high-speed sweep is started with a control signal from a control circuit 17. When an S curve signal Sin decreases below a low threshold level VSL, a wind comparator 14 generates an SL signal and a control circuit 17 generates a signal H/L signal for a low-speed sweep; when the S curve signal increases above a high threshold level VSH, the sweep is stopped with an SH signal from the comparator 14. A local oscillation frequency, on the other hand, is counted by an up-counter 19 and, during an AFC operation period, converted by a frequency-division-ratio data converting circuit 24 into frequency- division-ratio data for a programmable divider, and the local oscillation frequency of the best tuning point is converted into the frequency-division ratio data, which is used for reception by PLL operation.
