Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare a sheet material having improved light diffusing property at a good production efficiency, by dispersing and incorporating silicon oxide of specific particle diameter with an acrylic a resin substrate.
CONSTITUTION: SiO2 particles having an average particle diameter of 0.5W20μ are uniformly dispersed and incorporated in a resin consisting of a methacrylic ester essentially to give the particle content of 20W200g/m2. The resultant mixture is then molded into a sheet of 0.8W10mm thickness or a film of 25W800μ thickness by the cast polymerization, extrusion molding or casting method. The resultant sheet or film is laminated on another transparent (light transmitting) synthetic resin sheet.
