Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce a chrome plated steel plate having paint adhesiveness that withstands retort treatment by using a chemical treating soln. contg. specific concns. of a chromic acid anhydride and a fluoride compound in a chemical treating process of a two-step method.
CONSTITUTION: In the production of an electrolytic chromic acid treated steel plate, the electrolyte of the composition of the chemical treating soln. wherein 20W 200g/l chromic acid anhydride and the fluoride amount of the material forming F- ions such as ammonium fluoride, sodium fluoride or hydrogen fluoride exists 0.09W 2.55g/l is used in the chemical treatment process after chrome plating. Electrolysis conditions are 5W60A/dm2 electric current densities, and 10W50coulomb/dm2 quantity of electric conduction with the steel plate to be treated as cathode. It is preferable to control the content of sulfur compounds such as sulfuric acid radicals to be unavoidably included in the chemical treatment process to ≤0.3g/l.
