Abstract

PURPOSE:To decrease damping power of a shock absorber when its piston increases its speed to not less than a certain level, by opening an open-close valve when the piston increases its speed to at least the certain level in its compression stroke, equipping the open-close valve in a flow passage and providing the flow passage in the inside of a piston rod. CONSTITUTION:A spring receiver 7 is screwed to the end of a piston rod 1, and plural oil holes 10 are radially drilled to said receiver 7 while an oil passage 11, communicated to the oil holes 10 of the spring receiver 7, is provided axially in the piston rod 1, and said oil passage 11 is communicated to the upper oil chamber A of a piston by a radially communicated oil passage 11a. Further a stepped part 12 is provided in a lower end of the oil passage 11 axially of the piston rod 1, and a cylindrical open-close valve 13 is axially and slidably equipped between said stepped part 12 and a closing part of said spring receiver 7, and always pressed by a coil spring 14 to the lower closing part.
