Abstract

PURPOSE:To produce an effective attenuation force which is controlled by an orifice by increasing a preset force of a slide valve and by increasing differential presures between the upper and lower chambers of a piston. CONSTITUTION:A control rod 19 is actuated to move vertically by a control unit. A spring bearing 29, which is contact to the bottom of the piston rod 11, controls the upperward movement of the control rod 19. The downward movement of a piston 10 in an inner cylinder 2 increases the pressure of a lower chamber B. In- creased differential pressure between the upper and lower chambers A and B are obtained due to a high preset force of a slide valve 13 and thus reduces the pressure of the upper chamber A to a greater extent. The oil in the lower chamber B of the piston flows to an clearance F between a taperd portion 25 and a projected portion 28 through passages D and E and then reaches a passage G and flows into the upper chamber A through passages 23 and 24. In this process, the clearance F between the tapered portion 25 of a slider 21 and the projected portion 28 functions as an orifice to control flow rates and thereby obtains attenuation force in the compression stroke.
