Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:A trans tetrahydro ML-236B shown by the formulaI{R1 is a group shown by the formula IIWformula IV[R2 is H, alkyl, benzyl or phenacryl capable of having substituent group (alkyl, alkoxy, halogen), 1/n.M (M is metal atom; n is velence of M); A is amino acid, organic amine]} and its derivative.
USE: A chloresterol synthesis inhibitor having further improved effect than a cis form.
PROCESS: ML-236B is hydrogenated in a solvent such as methanol, ethanol, isopropanol, tetrahydrofuran, etc. in the presence of Raney nickel or palladium catalyst at room temperature W60°C preferably at a hydrogen pressure of 3W 4kg/cm2, to give a compound shown by the formulaI(R1=a group shown by the formula II).
