Abstract

PURPOSE:To remove an antenna system switching circuit and to increase a maximum discriminatable speed, by making the polarization planes of transmission and reception signals of ground devices perpendicular to each other. CONSTITUTION:Since a transmission antenna 23a1 and a reception antenna 23a2, and a transmission antenna 23b1 and a reception antenna 23b2 are respectively orthogonal, electromagnetic waves radiated from the antenna 23a1 are not received on the antennas 23a2 and 23b2. The same holds for the antenna 23b1. When a mobile body 21 enters between the 1st and 2nd antennas 23a, 23b, the antenna beam is interrupted and the electromagnetic waves from the antenna 23a1 enters a response device C, while those from the antenna 23b1 are reflected on the side of the mobile body 21. Since the response device C synthesizes trans mission and reception common antennas 30a, 30b at a shaping circuit 31, they are in response to any of orthogonal deflected planes.
