Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent incomplete combustion by forming an injection hole to the side surface of the top section of a combustion chamber and shaping a concave section at the corresponding position of a piston in the diesel engine with the injection valve forming a fan-shaped atomized current through mutual collision just after injection.
CONSTITUTION: Liquid fuel is ejected from the butting injection holes 12, 12 of the injection valve mounted to the side surface of the top section of the combustion chamber 32, and forms the flat fan-shaped atomized current at the top surface of the piston. On the other hand, the concave section 35 is formed where approaching to the injection holes 12, 12 in the top surface 34 of the piston, and a shallow groove 36 is shaped between the injection holes 12 and the concave section 35. The concave section 35 generates a squish phenomenon i a compression stroke, and a radial current is strengthened particularly at the end of the stroke. When fuel is injected at that time, atomized particle groups directly attach on the wall of the combustion chamber and the top section of the piston through the reduction of speed due to collision and the reduction of speed due to the radial current at the speed of the atomized particle groups, and there is no danger of the generation of incomplete combustion.
