Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a high-strength hot-rolled steel plate having a special composite structure and superior formability by properly controlling the hot rolling and cooling conditions of a steel having an especially regulated S content and a specified relation between Si and Mn.
CONSTITUTION: A steel contg. 0.02W0.2% C, 0.7W2% Si, 0.3W1.2% Mn, 0.55W 1.2% Cr, 0.005W0.01% Al and ≤0.02% Si and satisfying the ratio of Si%/Mn% ≥1.1 or further contg. Nb, V, Ti, Zr, etc. is hot-rolled so as to adjust the hot rolling finish temp. to 800W900°C. The hot-rolled plate is subjected to controlled cooling from the hot rolling finish temp. to Ar1W550°C at 5W30°C/sec average cooling rate, and it is rapidly cooled to 350W500°C at ≥30°C/sec cooling rate and coiled to obtain a high-strength hot-rolled steel plate having high formability and a composite structure composed of ferrite and martensite. This steel plate having 1W30% area ratio of martensite is suitable for a car, etc.
