Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce a steel plate of ferrite-martensite composite with superior strength-ductility balance by hot rolling, cooling and coiling a low carbon steel having slight amounts of Ti and N under specific conditions.
CONSTITUTION: This is a steel contg. 0.05W1.15% C, ≤2% Si, 0.5W2.0% Mn, ≤0.1% Al, 0.005W0.03% Ti, and N≥ Ti/3.4 or further≤0.015% S and 2≤Zr/ s≤10 or any of Zr, REM, CA that make rare earth elements (REM) 1.3≤REM/S≤ 5, or 0.5≤Ca/S≤1.5. This ingot is hot-rolled ro a steel plate at temperatures above the Ar3 transformation point and ≥90% total draft. After this steel plate is quickly cooled at cooling rates of 10W100°C/sec, it is wound to a coil at ≤300°C temperatures.
