Abstract

PURPOSE: To obviate the occurence of scab phenomena by deviating the dropping start position where cast molten metal drops from the leading end of a pouring member to the prescribed side from the center of a mold in the case of centrifugally casting shape tubes.
CONSTITUTION: If the rotating direction of a mold 10 having a mold inside surface 10a is counterclockwise like in the arrow X direction in said mold 10, a pouring member 11 is moved to the forward side in its rotating and advancing direction, that is, to the right side facing the figure from the center O of the mold and the teeming of the molten metal is accomplished in this position. Hence, when the rotating direction of the mold 10 is clockwise conversely from the figure, the member 11 is moved to the left side facing the figure of the center O. Thereby, the sharpening in the angle of falling collision of the molten metal against the mold inside surface of a special shape pipe is obviated, and the scab phenomena are prevented or reduced.
