Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the quality of printing and also enable an incremental printing by a method wherein a bearing part of a printing end of a wire is provided in the main body of a head in such a manner that the part is movable within a plane nearly perpendicular to the direction of the axial line of the printing end and further a driving-energy supplying means therefor is provided in a carriage. CONSTITUTION:The movable bearing part 27 of the printing end of the wire has a leaf spring 11 with a supporting point 11-1 for bending fixed by a screw 29, and a bearing 7 and an armature 12 are fixed thereto. An electromagnet device 28 as a means for supplying energy to the armature 12 is fixed to a carriage 2 by a screw 26. In the state that the electric current on the coil winding 13 is broken, the leaf spring 11 is energized so as for the upper end part of the bearing 7 to be pressed against the surface 1-2 of a stopper and come to a standstill. When the coil winding 13 is electrified, the armature, slightly rotating around the vicinity of the supporting point 11-1 for bending against the elasticity of the leaf spring 11, is attracted to a pole piece 24. The bearing 7 moves in the direction of an arrow, while the printing wire 8 is also made to move in the direction almost perpendicular to the direction of the axial line thereof.
