Abstract

PURPOSE: To miniaturize and simplify the construction of a speed generator as a whole by utilizing a part of the generator as a motor body as well.
CONSTITUTION: Hall devices 1W3 are fixed to a stator, and a field magnet 5 and a soft magnetic material 6 are fixedly mounted on a rotary shaft 7. The magnetic material 6 has projections of a constant pitch at an outer circumferential portion thereof. When the magnetic material 6 with the magnet 5 is rotated, the projections mentioned above and recesses defined thereby are opposed alternately to the Hall devices. Every time the polarity of the magnet 5 is changed in accordance with variations in an angle of rotation θ of the rotor, an output is generated in terminals 1A, 1B of the Hall device 1 alternately. An output is generated in the same manner in terminals of the Hall devices 2, 3. When these outputs are added up, a basic wave component and a modulated wave component due to the projections and recesses at the outer circumferential portion of the magnetic material 6 are put together. The resulting output is processed through HPF 8 to stably obtain an AC wave signal proportional to the number of revolutions of the rotor.
