Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain single crystal ferrite having high permeability by combinedly adding a specified wt. percentage of tin oxide and vanadium oxide to ferrite consisting of ferric oxide, manganese oxide and zinc oxide in a specified molar ratio.
CONSTITUTION: 0.1W5wt% Tin oxide and 0.01W0.1wt% vanadium oxide are combinedly added to Mn-Zn ferrite consisting of, by mol, 50W65% ferric oxide, 25W35% manganese oxide and 5W25% zinc oxide. They are mixed by a usual powder metallurgical method, calcined, and melted at 1680°C to obtain single crystal ferrite having a uniform composition all over the length and showing high permeability and high performance head characteristics.
