Abstract

PURPOSE:To shorten length in the axial direction while improving radiation, and lengthen the life of a movable plate by a mechanism wherein the movable plate is installed at a location opposing to a yoke of an electromagnetic brake through a spring means in a boss portion of a following body opposing to a drive body. CONSTITUTION:A drive body 10 is fixed to one end of a shaft 5 of a motor. The drive body 10 consists of a magnetic pole body 20 and a magnetic path formin body 23, and an exciting coil 25 is housed in a space portion of the magnetic pole body 20. A following body 40 is composed of a cup-shaped eddy current generating plate 35 and a boss 38 for connecting with an output shaft 30, and the eddy current generating plate 35 is arranged into a ringed magnetic path which the drive body 10 form. An electromagnetic brake 41 is fastened to a bracket 31, and a brake lining 44 is fitted to an end surface while a movable plate 45 is fixed to the boss 38 of the following body 40 through a spring means. The load torque of the following body 40 is controlled by means of the exciting coil 25 while the elecromagnetic brake 41 is worked when stopping.
