Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a material for a mold for molding glass with superior heat conductivity, strength, resistance to oxidation, corrosion resistance, etc. by combindly adding a specified amount of Al, Ti, Be, B, W, Mo, V, etc. to Ni.
CONSTITUTION: An Ni alloy having a composition contg. <0.30% C, <1.50% Si, <4.00% Mn, 0.20W4.00% Al and 0.10W2.50% Ti is used as a mold material for molding glass. Said composition may further include 0.02W1.5% Be, 0.02W2.50% B and either one of 0.1W2.50% V, 0.20W4.00% Mo and 0.20W5.00% W or 0.25W 6.00% in total of two or more among them. This Ni alloy has superior heat conductivity and endures long-term use when used as a material for a high-grade glass molding metal mold without requiring Cr plating.
