Abstract
PURPOSE: To enhance the erosion resistance of a Co alloy to molten zinc by adjusting the alloy to a specified composition contg. C, Si, Mn, Nb and/or Ta, Mo and/ or W, and Cr.
CONSTITUTION: This Co alloy has a composition consisting of, by wt., 0.01W3% C, 0.01W2% Si, 0.01W2% Mn, 1W10% Nb and/or Ta, 1W10% Mo and/or W and 10W25% Cr as essential components and the balance Co with inevitable impurities or further contg. one or more among 0.1W10% Ni, ≤25% Fe and 0.001W2% Zr and/or B as selective components. This alloy is used in the manufacture of a structural member exposed directly to molten zinc or in casting, working or build- up welding.
