Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a heat and wear resistant Co alloy at a low cost by reducing the Co content of a Cr-Fe-Ni-Co base alloy by half and by increasing the Fe, Ni and Mo contents.
CONSTITUTION: This Co alloy consists of C 1.0W3.5%, Mn 0.5W2.0%, W 2.0W 10.0%, Cr 25.0W35.0%, Mo 2.5W7.5%, Fe 20.0W30.0%, Ni 18.0W25.0%, and Co and inevitable impurities 10.0W23.0% or further contains V 0.5W2.0% if necessary.
USE: Such kind of conventional alloys contain Co≥50% and are very expensive. By adopting the above compsn. a material is obtd. having superior castability and build-up weldability as well as superior strength, wear resistance and corrosion resistance at ordinary and high temps. It is suitable for a car engine, a valve, a valve seat, blades for a turbine, a pump, etc. for chemical industry apparatus, and so on.
