Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture high Mn heat resistant steel having high creep rupture strength, by decreasing the content of expensive element, e.g., Co, and by compounding suitably C, Mn, Ni, Cr, Mo, V, Nb, N, B etc. to form a matrix composed completely of austenite.
CONSTITUTION: A high Mn heat resistant steel comprises 0.15W0.50% pref. 0.2W 0.3% C, ≤2% Si, 4W15% Mn, 5W15% Ni, 18W25% pref. 20W23% Cr, 1W4% pref. 1.5W2.5% Mo, 0.1W1.0% V and Nb, 0.20W0.60%, pref. 0.3W0.4% N, 0.005 W0.10% B, the balance being Fe. The heat resistant steel has a matrix composed completely of austenite because of adjusted combination of the components, and of combination of synergistic effects between the components and has high creep rupture strength especially at a temp. 650W750°C, and high corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance.
