CONSTITUTION: A mixed gas-forming device is designed to supply temporarily a mixed gas more enriched than the one of a theoretical air-fuel ratio during the operation of the choke valve 58 or during the acceleration time when the opening degree of the throttle valve 52 is great and also to supply a diluted mixed gas during the normal operation at partial load. And, the EGR device by which a part of exhaust gas is recylced to the main air inlet path 24 through the recycling tube 64 according to the operational condition of engine is provided. And, the ceramic honycomb-like monolithic support 176 is attached to the cylindrical space of the assembly portion 174 inside the exhaust manifold 18, and the secondary air supply hole 182 connected to the secondary air supply pipe 74 is formed on its downstream side.
