Abstract

PURPOSE: To simplify the construction thereby to stably and accurately measure a liquid level by detecting pulses of such amplitude as responds to the variation in the electrostatic capacity due to an insulating liquid, which is generated by an elecdrode arranged to face an electrode to be supplied with pulses of preset frequency.
CONSTITUTION: When pulses of preset frequency generated by an oscillator 21 are impressed upon an electrode 111, a pulse voltage corresponding to the liquid level is generated in the opposite electrode 112 by the variation in the electrostatic capacity between the electrodes 111 and 112, which varies in accordance with the level of an insulating liquid 102, and is detected a voltage setting circuit 23. The voltage detected is synchronously compared by a comparator 27 with a standard voltage, which is generatrd by such a standard voltage circuit 26 as receives the pulses from the oscillator 21 so that an arithmetic amplifier 271 generates pulses having a width corresponding to the liquid level. During this speed, a transistor 284 is rendered conductive so that the liquid level is measured through the arithmetic circuit. By this construction, and float can be dispensed with, and the smoothening operation of the detected pulses can neither be dispensed with so that the liquid level can be stably and accurately measured with the use of a simple and small construction.
