Abstract

PURPOSE:To make a unit constitution small-size and simple and make sure operations possible by detecting physical change of an object on a basis of change of the excitation state caused by the physical action of the object upon an electroacoustic conversion element. CONSTITUTION:Piezo-vibrator 6 is caused to invade into detected object such as a developer consisting of powder or liquid to detect change of the exciting current flowed to the vibrator, thereby detecting the level of detected object 7. Piezo-vibrator 6 is connected to oscillator 9 through resistor 8. For the purpose of detecting change of the exciting current, voltages at both ends of resistor 8 are amplified by amplifier 10. The amplified signal is supplied to comparator 12 through rectifier and smoother 11 and is compared with a reference voltage.
