Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the sensitivity and eliminate any protein removing operation during the measurement by molybdenum blue-direct colorimetric method by containing a specified amount of polyoxyethylene sorbitan fatty acid ester, dimethyl formamide and the like.
CONSTITUTION: 1W20wt% of ferrous sulfate or iron ammonium sulfate, 0.5W 20wt% of polyoxyethylene sorbitan fatty acid ester, 3W30wt% of dimethyl formamide and the like, 0.05W10wt% of stabilizing agent, 0.01W5wt% of molybdenum acid or salt thereof and 0.1W10wt% of strong acid are dissolved in the water. It is preferable to use hydrochloric acid hydroxylamine or sulfuric acid hydroxylamine as stabilizing agent. The above procedure can eliminate any protein removing operation prior to the measurement while stabilizing the reagent solution thereby improving the sensitivity.
